About Me

I am Dulcie, a British Wheel of Yoga Teacher.

​

Although my background is in Graphic Design, I have been passionate about yoga since I was first introduced to it some twenty-something years ago.  I became immediately fascinated by the health and well-being benefits of a regular yoga practice.  I found that yoga afforded me the time and space to maintain my physical and mental well-being and was particularly beneficial in providing lasting relief from chronic lower back pain.

​

My deepening interest in both the history and philosophy of yoga led me to undertake first a Foundation Course then Teacher Training with the British Wheel of Yoga.  This was a truly life-changing experience with a wonderful group of people with whom I am forever grateful to share such a special bond.  This year I have also qualified as a Yin-yoga teacher and I'm excited to be able to share another aspect of yoga practice with you.

​

  I teach a mixture of in-person and online classes and offer both group classes as well as one-to-one tuition.  I teach regular classes in health clubs and corporate yoga and I enjoy the variety of working within these different settings.  I believe that yoga offers us all the power to improve our lives and be our best selves.

I look forward to welcoming you into my yoga world to share and enjoy the benefits and friendships that yoga has brought to me.

Why Yoga?

WHY YOGA

The word 'yoga', from the Sanskrit word 'yuj' (meaning to yoke or to bind) is often interpreted as 'union'.  Most yoga classes today explore the relationship between mind, body and breath working together through a combination of physical postures (asana), breathing exercises and meditation.  Yoga can be dynamic and invigorating as well as slow and relaxing.
 

Yoga helps us keep our bodies strong and flexible, our minds calm and soothed and enables us to cope better with the rigours of modern life.  You will leave my classes feeling relaxed, revitalised and calmed and the benefits of a yoga practice will stay with you long after you have left the class.  All of my classes are suitable for everyone whether you have tried yoga before or not.  I give plenty of modifications and adjustments so you can work at your own pace and within your own comfort level - you don't need to be already fit or flexible to enjoy the benefits of a regular yoga class.  

 

Please bring a mat and a blanket and wear comfortable clothes that won't restrict your movement.  For those not able to attend the studio, you can join me on Zoom and practice in the comfort of your own home if you prefer.  Above all, enjoy yourself!

Classes are available to be booked as a block of six for £45, or on a drop-in basis for £10 per session (space permitting).  If you have booked in advance and miss a class I can supply a recording for you catch up at home, but I am unable to offer refunds or carry bookings over to the next block.

Corporate Yoga:

Workplace yoga is a great way to boost energy levels, reduce stress and fatigue and helps to improve focus and concentration. 

If you'd like to support your team with yoga, please contact me to discuss.

You can also find me at the Celtic Manor Resort where I teach on Wednesdays and Fridays and at the Marriott St. Pierre on Sundays and  Wednesdays (members and guests only).

*Zoom classes are £42 for a block of 6, this includes a recording which is available to access for 7 days. 

​

**In-person group classes are £45 for a block of 6, payable in advance or £10 drop-in (space permitting).
